Alice Leahy Trust
There is a collection box at the back of the church where suitable items for Alice Leahy Trust may be placed. We collect shampoo, liquid soap, biscuits, tea, coffee etc. This collection is coordinated by Valerie Duncan.
Storehouse Food Bank
There is a collection box for the Storehouse at the back of the church where we collect non-perishable food items for our friends in Crinken parish. This collection is coordinated by Anne Lee. During Lent we collect Easter Eggs for Crinken, and we also collect Selection Boxes during Advent.
Darndale Creche
During Advent and Christmas we appeal for new toys and children’s books for the Jigsaw Centre in Darndale Creche. Donations of new toys will be accepted all year round.
Guide Dogs for the Blind
We have had a close working relationship with the Guide Dogs for the Blind for many years and help them by attending their fundraising events in the area, providing meeting space for meetings, and working with them to run the pet blessing service.
Bishops’ Appeal
This appeal, run by the bishops of the Church of Ireland, funds aid, development projects and provides funds to charities working in disaster zones around the world. We collect funds for this work by special collections during Advent and Christmas and by special collections on Easter Day, Christmas Day and Harvest Thanksgiving. Donations may be given at any time by using a special Bishops’ Appeal envelope.
